Lysenko, considered by many as a charlatan and perhaps not so and questionably was a malignant destructive force that destroyed scientific Mendelian Genetics in the USSR. In fact, this science was very advanced in Russian Empire and USSR until the advent of Lysenko and Stalin. Both of them became the authors of a tragic "dark ages" of genetics in their empire.
