"Dwarf with signs of Neurfibromatosis type 1 (peripheral form)" (details from "Dwarf or Gnome with a facial sign of a concurrent genetic disorder ") (see related A | B) Mirabell gardens - Zwerglgarten (Dwarf garden) , Salzburgh, Austria
This statuette, along with other similar companion statuettes, represents gnomes, many of whom have concurrent signs of Neurofibromatosis type 1. Note here a fleshy "mole-like" facial neurofibroma - once you see one, a search for other signs of NF-1 is essential. This work, several centuries old, demonstrates how highly perceptive was the artist that created them - he noted signs of NF-1 and depicted them among statuettes, which in the aggregate present a nearly complete array of clinical signs of NF-1.
