Allegoric representation of two sisters sharing a bath. Please, note the ring held by Gabrielle. Perhaps, the combination of nipple and ring reflect the fact that she was already pregnant and about to have a child from King Henry IV of France (a boy that became Cesar de Vendome). More comments in companion notes. 

Historians suggest that Gabrielle died in 1599 from complications of eclampsia, but ... if she did deliver a living son and, presumably, expelled the placenta, the eclampsia should have ameliorated.
