"Model of the Aesculapius Temple Complex" Science Museum, London, Great Britain
This complex stood in Epidaurus. It is one of the most important of the many shrines of Asclepius built c. 250 B.C. Patients slept in long colonnaded buildings behind the round temple. Devoted priests interpreted the dreams of patients who upon leaving left votive tablets depicting the body areas they voted or wished to be cured.
