ALEKSANDRA OR ANASTASIA LISOVSKA KNOWN AS ROXALANA OR HURREM SULTAN

During 1517 Alexandra or Anastasia Lisovska (later known as Roxalana, Rosselana - derived from mispronunciation of Ruthinian or Russ, then the name of the Ruthinian population of current Western Ukraine - she also became known Hurrem Sultan, Haseki, etc.). She lived in in the town Rohatyn near Lviv, Ukraine. She was kidnapped and sold as a slave in a market in Crimea for the Harem of the Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent - she was at the time 15 years old. Suleiman at the time was not the Sultan. They fell deeply in love, which persisted till their death. He built in her memory a mausoleum and left for all of us a rich treasure of love-poems.
She also became his chief consort and later legal wife. They had 6 children. She also became one of the most powerful (and controversial) political figures. Roxalana died in 1558; Suleiman survived her by 8 years and wrote a love poem -
"Throne of my lonely niche,
my wealth, my love, my moonlight.
My most sincere friend, my confidant, my very existence, my Sultan,
my one and only love.
The most beautiful among the beautiful ...
My springtime ... , my daytime, my sweetheart ... My sweet, my rose ...
Believe it or not, this love story continues today, as well as in the context of brutality, associated with unrestrained power. On the cost of the Azov sea is the city of Mariupol. Not long ago (2007) a patron of Turkish descent built a replica of a mosque in Istambul in the memory of Roxalana and the love of Suleiman the Magnificent and his poetry. Then emerged a Russian autocrat whose mother called him Vladimir and his father lent him the name of Putin. However, his soul became infected, and the infection degenerated his ethics. The KGB was the vector, and the DNA of the infection had a root in Lenin, Stalin, and many other degenerated Bolsheviks. Mr. Putin ordered Russian troops to bomb this mosque to demonstrate the brutality and coarseness, as well as the criminality of the ideology he represents. The total destruction of Mariupol by Russian troops will stand forever as an emblem that if Russia is "a mother" of nations such as Ukraine, she truly must be degenerate as well.
