A well formed (normal morphogenesis) ear of a stillborn showing a distinct outer rim (helix), in front of the opening of the ear canal, the tragus, in front of the helix, the antihelix, in front of the tragus, the antitragus, and below a fleshy ear lobule normally lacking cartilage. Ears are to such extent variable that before fingerprints or dactyloscopy (dermatoglyphic in Biology and Medicine) recording ear morphology was used as an identification marker.
