RELIGION MEDICINE THEOLOGY ETHICS

 Teach thy tongue to say
" I do not know".
Moses ben Maimon

N.B. Aristotle elaborated on Biology and Ethics concurrently. Aristotle reasoned that "virtue" is an expression of nature. Maimonides, also known as Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon (1135-1204) or Musa ibm Maymun in Arabic, rejected those Aristotelian principles that contradicted religious tradition. Maimonides viewed man as a "praying being". Arguably, Maimonides stands as an emblem of religious impacts on Medical Ethics. A native of Cordoba, Spain, Maimonides became a physician and a scholar of the Torah. To avoid conversion to Islam, the rabbinical Maimon family left Spain for exile in Africa. Maimonides served as a physician of Sultan Saladin and his influence on Europe and Judaism became considerable. His 13 principles of faith became accepted by Orthodox Judaism as obligatory beliefs including the immutability of Gods Law, resurrection of the dead, Gods eternity and the Revelation  through Gods prophets.
