"Frida Kahlo " (see related A), c 19 Diego Rivera (1886-1957) Los Angeles County Museum , Los Angeles , California , USA
This is the only known easel portrait by Rivera of his wife Frida at the time of their brief divorce.
Some publications propose that Ms. Kahlo suffered from Spina Bifida while others contend that her chronic pain was due to peripheral nerve injury. (V. Badrys, J. Europ. Neurol. 55;4,2006). Note synophris fusion of the eyebrows and hair on the upper lip (mild hirsutism).
